Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. I lived in Florida and I thought I hated it.
However…I moved to Toronto for a change and now:
stupid snow, cloudy days, stupid winter jacket and taking off your shoes because of the stupid wood floor, traffic is way worse, my car looks like all the time full of ice, no beach, I’m sorry canadians you got a real cool city in Toronto but it’s just not for me! Nice for vacationing though…
